From the moment you arrive at the beautifully luxurious Hilton Alexandria Mark Center with the all inclusive, full Retreat program, you’ll see no reason to leave. However, if you want to see the area, the Hilton is located in the west end of Historic Alexandria, just 5 miles from the tours, events, attractions, monuments, and business district of Washington D.C. and 4 miles from the Pentagon. Our central hotel is within 15 minutes of the White House, US Capitol, Washington Convention Center, Arlington National Cemetery, and the famed Smithsonian Museums. Adjacent to a 43-acre botanical preserve, 3.8 miles from the quaint waterfront galleries and shops in Old Town Alexandria, our unique lakeside hotel provides a tranquil oasis for the high-quality learning of the National Jewish Retreat.

The hotel’s indoor/outdoor pool provides an opportunity to relax and rejuvenate with a recreational swim. Please note, the pool complex has no lifeguard on duty, and children of any age must be accompanied by an adult.

Arlington National Cemetery

 Arlington National Cemetery, under the jurisdiction of the Department of the Army, is our nation’s most treasured burial ground, is home to more than 285,000 honored dead. Among the thousands of white headstones are the graves of President John F. Kennedy, Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall, world champion boxer Joe Louis and the Tomb of the Unknowns.

United States Holocaust Memorial Museum

America’s national institution for Holocaust remembrance and education, this acclaimed museum tells the story of the Holocaust through dynamic exhibits that highlight its relevance today. Special exhibitions include Daniel’s Story, for younger audiences, and explore the topics of propaganda and contemporary genocide and anti-Semitism.

Mt. Vernon Estate & Gardens

Discover the real George Washington at his riverside estate. Tour the mansion, gardens, blacksmith shop, farm, whiskey distillery and gristmill. Pay respects at his tomb. Old Town Alexandria

Old Town has been bustling with activity since it was founded by Scottish merchants in 1749. Shopping addicts enjoy the charm of the boutiques of all types housed in historic buildings. The free King Street Trolley will take you to all of the antique shops and contemporary art galleries that line the cobblestone streets of this neighborhood once home to George Washington and Robert E. Lee.

The Smithsonian Museums in Washington, DC are world class museums with a variety of exhibits ranging from insects and meteorites to locomotives and spacecraft. Admission to all of the Smithsonian museums is free. Visitors enjoy examining more than 137 million objects, works of art and specimens as well as participating in guided tours, hands-on-activities and special programs.
